You must be attending a GGUSD high school for the duration of the program.

Please provide a signed copy of the Parent Acknowledgement Form.

To help us with the selection process, you will need to answer the following questions separately in your submission. Responses to all questions are required.

► Provide a 500-word minimum personal statement that discusses your background and the reason why you want to participate in this student exchange program and become a Garden Grove ambassador.

► Please list the extracurricular activities (school, community, church, etc.) that you are involved in with a brief description of your participation in each and when you started/ended each activity.

► Your expenses over and above the scholarship amount (airfare, passport, insurance, incidentals, etc.) will be approximately $800. Please explain how you will be financing these expenses.

One (1) clear photo of yourself OR School ID.

You are required to cover $500 of the airfare, with the Sister City Association sponsoring the remaining balance. Other expenses including obtaining or renewing a passport, travel insurance, and incidentals, such as costs for meals and shopping expenses while in Korea, are also your responsibility. Your total expenses will be approximately $800.

While not a requirement, it is highly recommended that you host a student to get the most out of this program. Please see the Host Requirements for more information.
